If you save the story as html from your word processor, then copy and paste from that you should find it will automatically include a line space between paragraphs
As for the story; There is not a lot to comment on, apart from the usual: Watch the capitalisation and Spellcheck is my friend.
As this is a story in its own right and you are introducing new characters, it could use a little more description e.g. What is Jones: Human, green pygmy, hologram etc?
Does he move at all, have habbits?
None of this is of huge importance yet with so little on the board and can be fed in as the story progresses, but it will make it read smoother
