Going to Loscon!

I'll be out in LA working over Thanksgiving weekend so I'll actually get to stop by Loscon for a bit! I'll be working third shift, so I don't know if I should hit the con during the morning/early afternoon for the panels or during the evening for the parties. I'm leaning towards the parties. Any advice from past Loscon attendees?

Well, I'm not much of a party-goer, but the Loscon parties can be fun. On the other hand, I love the panels. Not sure what's going on this year; I haven't checked the website an a couple of weeks to see if they've got any panels listed yet. Also, keep in mind, they usually have a few late-night panels as well, usually about things like vampires. Another late-night feature is the anime room, which runs 24/7.

I'm supposed to be there, but I'm not sure yet if I'll actually get to go. My car isn't the most reliable thing right now, so a lot depends on whether or not I can get a good price on a rental for the weekend. If it were just me, I'd take the train or fly, but my mother is coming along and she won't fly and is kind of iffy about the train, as it involves switching to a bus for part of the trip. She doesn't get around that well, and so public transport is a bit of a problem.

Anyway, if I'm there, maybe we'll see each other?
