Back in the days I used to read quit a bit of horror and fantasy.Clark Ashton Smith,R.E.Howard,etc.
But....Lovecraft wisecracking???Fascinating.
Strange tales,he did write.He correctly put the emphasis on mood,not gore,
and created a somehow eerily believable world.
