A few Jordan facts

Have just been reading through an interview with Mr Jordan, very interesting.

He actually writes for 8 or 9 hours a day, seven days a week.
He has a file of 2 megabytes just on the Aes Sedai and Initiates of the White Tower - living or dead.
His General Rule File is for laws, customs of each country etc.
His Remember File is for individual characters details and would be more than a 1000 pages if printed out.
He also has 13,000 books on his own books shelves.

After Wheel of Time is finished he will begin writing a trilogy.

Re: A few Jordan facts

Thats interesting I would be very interested in reading some of that stuff but then again I am a researchaholic. Anyway once the series is done I think he'd be smart to try to publish some of that information I think a lot of fans would also love to browse his library. Though I could understand a profound reluctance to allow any of what I said because this info would be like a treasure to him, I know it would be if it was mine to own.

Re: A few Jordan facts

Just found this thread. I had no idea that Robert Jordan had that many in-depth notes about his stories. I'm impressed that he keeps such information back to help with getting the detail right in his books.

I wonder about the same thing too .. If there were no computers these days, i can imagine RObert Jordan with lots and lots of sticky notes on his desh, his bed, his mirror etc .. But the point is, the details he specifies in the previous books are more or less in order when he brings them up in a later book ..

Re: A few Jordan facts

I would bet a ten gallon hat that Jordan still uses sticky notes. I know my grandmother, who has been writing history of our county and geneology for a very long time still uses sticky notes. They used to be on her typewriter. Now they are on her computer. I say, Grandma, why dont you just save your notes in the computer? She says that she can't see them if she does that.

-he also won the NCAA championship at north carolina.
-he win the NBA championship six times.
-he was league MVP three times IIRC.
-he has reaped the greatest total endorsement dollars of all basketball players.
-he is currently a basketball executive, but his track record has not been very good so far.
-he is generally regarded as one of the two best players of all time, along with sir neville chamberlain.
-he is so famous and accomplished that a middle eastern country was once renamed in his honor.

But I think it's Michael Jordan, not Robert.
