Let's see...when am I getting mine...? hmmm....Never, I think. Yup - never is good for me.

I'm going to pretend none of the prequels have ever been made and stick to the original (non-special edition) versions.
And no, I haven't got Episode's I & II either.

Tempted to buy Ep3 - but I may just find myself renting it. I know I have to watch it, but at the moment it has about as much appeal as going for a filling at the dentists. Sure, the dental assistant may look pretty, but that doesn't mean to say having my teeth drilled will be fun.

Btw - let's keep this thread on Ep3 rather than dentists, thanks.

I got mine at the week-end, it was thirteen quid from ASDA. It's lovely, a great film. Started looking at some of the extras this morning, but am saving myself the Director's Commentary for the right time.

Re: Star wars EP 3 when are u getting yours?

I finally ended up buying it - watching it without the hype and it wasn't so bad as I expected, but it wasn't so good, either.

The opening "battle" isn't really a battle - it's just a disconnected series of images mostly focused in the background. No reason or build up, and nothing really engaging (the attack on the Death Star in Return of the Jedi still remains the best space battle, IMO).

Lots of the film remains disconnected - I have no idea why General Grievous was needed to lead the droids instead of Count Dooku, but all he really seemed to do was pad the film.

The Wookies section seemed gratuitous and pointless - it's a real shame he wasn't able to use them as apparently planned for Return of the Jedi.

Last 15mins or so of the film was decent enough, but that's mainly because of the tie-ins to the original films.

Overall, rather than say Revenge of the Sith was the best of the three prequels, probably better to say it was the least worse.

What's this then? How were they to be used in RotJ?

I think originally they were going to have the Wookies instead of the Ewoks?

Re: Star wars EP 3 when are u getting yours?

You could say that Grievous was needed to distract Obi-Wan from his padawan, so Palpatine could have more time with Anakin when it was most needed, and cause a rift between them when Palp chose Anakin to hunt Grievous and the council went with Obi-wan instead, as Palp had foreseen (not too hard to do I admit!).
It was all about building the feelings of resentment and anger in Anakin, to prepare him for his turn to the Dark Side. Also, Palp thought he'd be rid of Obi-Wan after the Dooku fight, but Anakin decided to rescue Obi-Wan too, proving he still had good in him, as Luke found to be true in ROTJ
PLUS, the General is about the best computer graphic character ever created yet, by a long shot. What's not to like?
