Obi-Wan's Training

Can anyone shed some light on an issue I feel hadn't been resolved throughout the Star Wars Saga?

In A New Hope, Obi-Wan told Luke that he hoped he could teach Annakin as well as Yoda had taught him, but as far as I can tell Yoda never actually taught Obi-Wan, it was Qui-gon.

Is this reference to basic training as a Youngling (as seen in Attack Of The Clones) or as Yoda's Padawan?

A mighty big help goes out to any solid info

Thankyou all

Re: Obi-Wan's Training

Probably that Obi-Wan was trained by Yoda in the way he trained younglings... Because Obi-Wan trained Luke in the basics... No doubt the younglings were taught the basics the way Luke was trained by Yoda also... Let us not forget that Luke was quite old when starting... The younglings looked to be about 5-6 years old...

Re: Obi-Wan's Training

In the first movie...

QUI-GON

Don't center on your anxiety, Obi-

Wan. Keep your concentration here

and now where it belongs.

OBI-WAN

Master Yoda says I should be mindful

of the future...

QUI-GON

...but not at the expense of the

moment. Be mindful of the living

Force, my young Padawan.

yoda tells obi at the end of sith that hes going to train him some more, so maybe he is refering to that

Re: Obi-Wan's Training

It generally comes across as Lucas rewriting the training to introduce Qui-gon. If Obi says that he will train Luke, then it can only make sense as a padawan - teaching the ways of the force on a one-to-one basis. Surely?

It certainly wouldn't be the first continuity error?

Re: Obi-Wan's Training

Like how Obi Wan (in the New Hope) says he hasn't been called Obi Wan seen before Anakin was Vader but he has called Obi Wan in the 3rd Movie when Vader was there

But surely the comment about Yoda training him would have been before he met Anakin? How can he train as good as Yoda if Yoda trains him after the birth of Vader??

Re: Obi-Wan's Training

He could refer to when ever. He is trained twice with Yoda. First with Lightsaber skills and second into the advanced living force.....
