Strange as it seems, some people do seem to think that.
I've had conversations with people who will tell you, straight out, that GRRM simply needs to 'focus on the book', 'pull himself together and do some work' and 'stop wasting time' as if he was a recalcitrant teenager refusing to do his homework.
