Slight Criticism of Knife, no spoilers

I'll try not to put anything remotely spoilerish.

I just finished the book and I really liked it but I felt exactly the same as after book 10.

That's not quite fair, I felt a little bit better but there's the same feeling of getting nowhere. I thought this was the book that was supposed to start wrapping up loose ends but to me there were very few wrapped up and the way they were to me was umm, too easy.

I feel like I've got all this supurfluous knowledge floating around in my head that doesn't seem remotely related to the plot line. I'm sure it'll tie in but with only one book left I don't see how so much will tie in without seeming hurried and shallow

I look forward to the next book, heck I've read something like 7,000 pages so far and I'm not going to quit now but I was really hoping for some main characters to explode or gather or something. They're all still in their separate spheres and there was plenty of opportunity for some connections.

I hope I didn't sound too disapointed and that I didn't give anything away. I liked the book and I'd recommend the series.

Exactly the same as after book 10? I'd heard that it had been an improvement, but if it's not better than book 10 I'll just have to skip this, because IMO Crossroads of Twilight was a disaster that shouldn't ever have got published.

I'll no doubt get round to reading this at some point and finish the series but if Perrin doesn't rescue Faile, Ewgene (sp?) take over the White Tower and Elayne cement her rule in Camelyn at the very least in Knife of Dreams, then I consider the whole novel to be a waste of time.
I fear for the last book now - The Last Battle, Trollocs, death, Black Tower & the orsaken all in the last book? There should be blood on every page!

EDIT: Oh, and if anyone pulls on a braid, I reckon they should lose it!

Don't be discouraged from reading it, I think its great, there were a few rather abrupt conclusions, but there had to be, there were so many different things going on he really had no choice but to chop the branching plots. I was pretty pleased with it and can't wait for #12

i think book 11 is great and a lot of plotlines are wrapped up and things are coming together nicely for book 12

I just wish he'd finish it, used to love it but it has gone on too long.

He has a hell of a lot to tie up in the next one book. He'll probably release another one of those prequels.

Re: Slight Criticism of Knife, no spoilers

Hi everyone

I bought and read all of the whell of time novels over the past year and half and was really disappointed that Egwene's story did not advance significantly in book 11 - but what can you expect, I wish Jordan would stop creating cliff hangers and not addressing them for several books at a time - so frustrating!
