I agree with your thoughts about Mieville, he really is in a league of his own
Saying that I do like a lot of other authors, but for different reasons and wouldn't take anything away from them. As long as they entertain me I'm happy
I'm only up to chapter 6 with the Iron Council. And already my head is swimming with images, trying to work out what some of the creatures and characters are like
