Well, if they want to make family friendly Pern stories, they should do the Harper Hall trilogy instead. That's written for young adults. The only problem there is that there aren't too many dragons. However, that'd mean less CGI and cheaper movies.

I'm just sick of the puritan American attitude where any sex immediately means a movie gets a higher rating, whereas you can have almost any amount of violence and still keep it a PG-13.
