sorry, I tend to think of belgariad/mallorean because I've read them more than all his other stuff. also, his medieval societies are transferrable; as you've pointed out, Tamul is Drasnia, and he always has a viking society, and a mongol-y one, and a high fantasy medieval one with the archaic speech patterns (showin' off the education?).
I'd like to try Spokane, Washington, where he sets 'The Losers', because he makes it sound like hell on earth! If I'm going for a non-Garion location, but still fantasy, I'd like to try.... Thalesia. All those big brawny men in armor with long hair... GRRR! *eyebrow waggling* |
