Andrew....nice points above and I also agree. I believe you've done your homework. My point was from a man to man perspective, taking the Spartan Warrior who is most probably the finest warrior to ever have fought, you take the same number of romans (say 100 to 100), and the romans would not last for more that 1 hour. And I an Not saying the romans were not fine soldiers they were brilliant. But if you had to classify one as the best...the Spartans win hands down. They are the bench mark and have been classified that from many different cultures including the romans themselves.....
