Hi all.

I'm really not sure why I didn't do this a lot sooner! I'm an aspiring author with a few written works under my belt, struggling through the "I'd love to get published" jungle.

I'm helplessly addicted to most things fantasy and Sci-fi and love writing the stuff. Even from a quick glance around, this looks like a great place to come for chatting to like-minded people and to get some useful advice too.

I'll look forward to getting to know you.

P.S. I'm probably being extremely thick, but can somebody help me get an Avatar up and running? I have a custom one I'd like to use, but I've no idea where to upload it or how to reference it in my profile. Thanks!

as for the avatar, click on you control panel, on the side are a list of options, click edit avatar and you're a for away....

Hi Paradox 99 & welcome to the forums.
To upload your personal avatar firstly make sure it's no larger than 100 pixels by 100 pixels, then click on User CP to access your details and hopefully it's fairly straightforward by then - if not gimme a shout

Thanks for the nice welcome, everybody. I'm sure I'll love it here. My avatar is in, so thanks for the info - it seemed so obvious once I'd been pointed in the direction of the control panel.

Well, since the question's been asked....

My favourite author at the moment is C.S.Lewis (haven't read the Cosmic Trilogy for a while, but I loved that).
Favourite book is a toss up between the old favourite - LOTR and Robert R. McCammon's "Stinger".
Favourite story - Still LOTR I think.
With the obvious exception of writing/reading, running is probably my favourite passtime - maybe gaming too.
Food - anything with lamb!
Drink - Coffee, no doubt. Though I am partial to red wine.
Movies - At the moment, my faves are Chronicles of Riddick, Donnie Darko and yes... the whole LOTR trilogy.
TV shows - There are so many that I love, but I will always hold a soft spot for Babylon 5 - the story arc was just amazing. Dr.Who rates highly for me as does the sweet, fuzzy nostalgic feeling for Space 1999 and the feel-good factor of Hercules-The Legendary Journeys.

There, my likes list in a nutshell.
