That was part of the problem for me, Ivanova was at least relatively believeble as a military officer where as Lochley looked more like a southern beauty queen. I took her casting plus those of the mars restistance leader and Baron as a sign of studio pressure to include "beautiful people".
She did strike me as a much less interesting replacement aswell, they'd have been better off creating a character with a much darker civil war past IMHO that could have been woven into the story.
