| Re: X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) Whilst it wasn't as good as the previous two films it can still be considered an xmen film.
[quote=barristan]It went way too far out of the official storylines for it to be a fitting end to the trilogy.[\quote]
I'm not sure of the relevance of your comment? Are you saying because it didn't stay true to the dark pheonix telling in the comics? Cause the films would find it difficult to stay too closely. I could site a dozens of reasons why X2 didn't stay true to God Loves Man Kills. And I have no idea what storyline Xmen was taken from.
Or perhaps your objection rises from the fact the characters have strayed from the comics, but then i would have to ask from which writer because the characters have always been fairly inconsistent over the years.
to be honest i agree with you to some extents the film could have been better. I wasn't that bothered about Cyclops dying cause i've never liked him. But the Juggernaut needed to be... well the juggernaut. I could buy the new backstory mutant thing, but vinnie jones just didn't pull off the role.
If they do make another xmen film without the main characters (ie wolvie prof x storm) they could still make a good xmen film. The good thing about the xmen is the number of characters they can draw upon. They've already got iceman, shadowcat, collosus, they could bring in gambit polaris havok the white queen psylocke, bring back nightcrawler. I could go on but am too lazy. |
