I did get teary-eyed in several spots for LotR, but the only place I wept openly was Boromir's death scene in FotR.

So, you didn't like the movies, huh? That's your privilege I suppose, but I rather pity those who can't understand that books and movies are different media that work by different rules. Especially an author as verbose as Tolkien, it's impossible to reproduce his world exactly. I and many others who love both the book and the movies think that PJ was true to the spirit of the book, if not the letter.
