It's September, and we're still reading OK?

A day late, but here is the latest installment of our Now Reading thread.

Tell us what you're reading. Bodice-rippers, quests for oddly named arcane objects, interminable battles between rival galactic empires, spuedo-scientific historical revisionism, or something that's actually kinda neat - it's Ok you can 'fess up about your reading matter, whatever it is.

Me, I'm reading:

Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon, which is rather dense and odd, but also rather gripping so far.

Glory Season by David Brin, which seems to be settling in for an extended, slow beginning, but ought to get somewhere interesting eventually. I hope.

The Enemy Stars by Poul Anderson, which isn't as good as his later truly epic SF, but is moving along qite nicely anyway.

And generally dipping into a variety of Philip K Dick essays.

I am also reading Gravity's Rainbow, and would agree with your sentiments. Although it is, saddly, so far less odd than I had been lead to believe.

Added to this, I am reading If On A Winter's Night A Traveller, which is rather vague and odd, but also rather gripping so far.

I'm reading two right now - Sacred and Profane, by Faye Kellerman, and Magic Street, by Orson Scott Card. Looking forward to perhaps getting to do some serious reading over the holiday weekend.

Oh, and JP, I love the new avatar.

Not reading fantasy/sf at the present moment, but have just finished the graphic novel Batman: Hush. And am about to read Catherine Webb's Waywalkers. Anyone read it?

So far, so good. I'm not really very far into it yet. Haven't had much reading time. After I go out and do some errands this morning, I'm going to try to spend some time with it.

Italo Calvino is the best. At least, one of them.

I'm reading Invisible Cities by that very fellow.

...did you read Ender's Game?
