| Re: Don't buy BT broadband I did a year of hard time with BT, and then switched to Pipex last August (looks about the same time you did, Brian). Apart from BT being more expensive, more restrictive (telling me I shouldn't worry about data caps and top-up fees, cos they will only effect 20% of customers... yeah, I'm one of the 20%, you morons) and generally less helpful (outsourced tech support - at least they knew what they were doing, but damn it if I could actually hear what they were saying... and this is a phone call to a telecomms company?)... Apart from all these things they provide an installation package that clogs up your computer with at least 3 different COMPLETELY useless software installations. Pipex just gave me my password and I set up my internet connection with them in about a 20th of the time it took with BT. And then when I left they billed me for two extra months (and took it from my account, even though I had explained that I had already left). Took me 3 months in total after leaving before I was all square with them. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. And relax. |
