Discworld cartoons.

Has anyone seen all the cartoons of Discworld?
I saw The Witches years ago and came across the box set in my local Music zone I have to buy it soon because I am such a big Pratchett fan.
I just need to know what the rest are like?
I enjoyed The Witches but have to admit the books are much funnier!

I saw Wyrd Sisters and a little bit of Soul Music (basically the same sort of thing). I didn't really rate them, tbh, they didn't really manage to get the sense of humour across and the jokes kind of fell flat.

I didn't know there were any others... what else is there?

I think those two are the only ones, but I'm not sure...

I have the first half of Soul Music on VHS, I watched it once and kind of gave up the idea of buying the rest...It was a bit too bland, I guess I was expecting it to be much more colourful...

I do appreciate Sir Christopher Lee as the voice of Death, though, that was a nice touch...

I saw some of the Soul Music cartoon when it was on British TV some years ago. I thought it was terribly un-funny and a huge huge disappointment after reading the books which have more giggles per page than any other writer I know. Personally, I thought it was not even a very well done cartoon (not very memorable artwork and an uninteresting soundtrack) and I can't imagine how anyone would be drawn to read his books on the strength of seeing the cartoons alone.
For me, Pratchett works are best in the original book form and quite good on stage sometimes. It just couldn't make the jump to TV on this occasion. I suspect any feature film version would be a big disappointment too.

I watched part of 1 a few years ago didn't really enjoy it much nowhere close to the books in terms of humour

i dissagree with all you guys...i have the soul music dvd shipped ot me from england and i thought it was awesome...some of the characters where a bit different than in my mind,,,but they all made sense ot the characters themselves...like cmot dibbler...he looked like a sleazy business man instead of how i pictured him.which reflects more in my mind as the cover of moving pictures...as for the comment about the jokes falling flat and not being brought ot life properly...of course thier too quick...thier being said..you cant stop and reread them...i am waiting for wyrd sisters in the mail still///and am hoping they get nanny ogg correctly.///but as far as soul music///it was awesome//and thiers a interview with pratchet on the dvd/..and he states that he had the same problem...at the first drafts of the characters he said they needed to be changed...but as it stands he is happy with the adaptation..he came accross really honest and sincere...he said the music was perfect and he wanted a soundtrack for his own...the only problem he had was being an author and not a animator he didint want to be over thier shoulder 100%,,but he put his foot down...is hes happy with the finished product,,and the stories are in his head,,you guys should be too,,,give it another go...and realize how fast things have to keep moving...one thing also to remember ..is terry stated he has the voces of the characters more in his head than the actual faces.. i had a problm with nobby nobbs at first in soul music..cuz he wasnt nobby enough...but his voice was perfect...so my advice is tyr and watch them again//i think if you just sit down and accept that its a adaptation of the book,,you should beable to enjoy it...the only thing i can see being really different is the fact that you cant get his narration between bits because its on screen,,or his comedic foot notes*

anyways,,i only know of the two cartoons...if anyone knows of more..let me know....

I agree with the majority of people here, i saw wyrd sisters on tv in NZ a few years ago, and i was a great dissapointment. I think if you want a book to work as a tv programme or movie, it is essssssential to have the original author write the script for it, and even then there is no guarentee it will work!!

Saw they Wyrd sisters, it was good, but the books are so much better, tried to watch a friends DVD of soul music but could not get it to work. the books are better.

I think they were alright, but I think they fall kind of flat. I got a much stronger sense of Discworld from the games.

I loved the Discworld game for PS1 too, although some of the tasks were practically impossible to figure out!

I admit to using a cheat booklet at times...

I watched both of them at their original showing on TV in the UK, my old man saw them as well and asked: "You really want me to start reading this junk ?" I tried to point out the differences between LOTR cartoon and the book, but despite being as big a literary omnivore as I am, he still hasn't picked up a Terry Pratchett.
