Star Wars: Troops (spoof) I came across this the other day - it's amazing because: 1/ It's funny 2/ Real effort was made with it 3/ It ties in with the movies! Imagine the scene - a TV camera crew spends a day following a Stormtrooper foot patrol on Tatoine...a la "COPS" and any other documentary. Stormtroopers casually talk to the camera crew and highlights of the day are brought together... I highly recommend you go for the lot - the full 27 megs. ![]() Example dialogue: Stormtrooper to Jawa "Uh...listen, I've got a wife and kids as well, but do you see me...uh, stealing Imperial Droids?" Some great tie-ins and quality special effects - this is a very high-class spoof. ![]() Troops

Re: Star Wars: Troops (spoof) I got this on a "Total Movies" dvd back before the magazine stopped printing. I almost split my sides. It's funny in it's own right, but a real treat for those who know the movies inside-out. The people who made it were professional special-effects people and voice actors. If i remember correctly, the voice of the "Minnesota" troop (he does most of the talking) was the same guy who did "Michelangelo" in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles cartoon.

Re: Star Wars: Troops (spoof) What isnt working? Will it not download? Try right-clicking and using "Save target as", that way you can save it to your harddrive and not have to view it in your browser. The other thing is that it is in .mov format, so you will need quicktime to view it. Let me know if you need anythingelse, or if this helps.

Re: Star Wars: Troops (spoof) It says it is downloading then it stops and says it is done but nothing happens. I tried the "save target as" but it it's gonna take over an hour to get done, so I'm gonna have to wait to do that. My computer is way to slow. I only have a 56k dial up. Thanks for the help though. ![]()

Re: Star Wars: Troops (spoof) Oh, jeez! Wow, i'm sorry. If you can, i would save the download for when you have some things to do around the house, then come back later and see if it finished. I feel for you.... ![]()

Re: Star Wars: Troops (spoof) They told us when we bought our computer that it would be fast enough for us. I think they lied . It's a pain just to watch something on the mediaplayer. Anyway, thanks again for the help.![]()

Re: Star Wars: Troops (spoof) 56k is usually sufficient - but 27 megs on a dialup is going to take a few hours - presuming your connection isn't reset during the process. Rather than download the whole thing, I recommend you download an excerpt: part three is 7 megs, so that's - what, around 20-30mins on a 56k? Try right-click and "save target as" to save to hardrive: http://download.theforce.net/theater...roopspart3.mov You do need apple Quicktime, though - a free program, but in itself will take a little while to download. Here it is: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/products/qt/ and the download is at the top right.
