It would do as an animated series, maybe, but as a movie... it doesnt convince me, I was so sad when I went off the cinema when I saw the fellowship of the ring and dindnt meet Tom Bombadil... also, They ate my mental image of how the characters should be, the film ate it all. I dont want the same to happen with aSoIaF.
Can anybody remember how did u imagine Aragorn, or Galadriel, whoever, before the film? i cannot, and thats the thing i hate from books made movies...

Shaggy have you ever seen the book A Tokien Bestiary? That is where I got most my mental images of LotR before the movie. Very interesting artwork.
