SwanCon

Has any West Australian been to or belong to SwanCon?
I see there have been some terrific authors to some of the conventions which is great.
Apart from that and the membership price (!!) I was unable to find out much more about SwanCon. Is there someone out there who is able to enlighten me?

Re: SwanCon

It might not quite be in the same league a s WorldCon but it is our own!

Hope to see you there.

PS - are you 'wandering' or AT 'Wandering"?

Lol, I'd forgotten about Wandering. No I'm not that far South or that far from a Beach *shivers at the idea*.

I used 'wandering' as I was travelling about for a few years and even though I'm back home for now I decided to leave it, I think I'll always be a wanderer at heart.

Re: SwanCon

Nice to know you're not freezing to death then

Hope you are not too far away, that you wont be able to attend the SwanCon. It sounds pretty good to me.

Got some Mercedes Lackey books I would like signed if that is possible.

Re: SwanCon

I've heard of Swancon but never attended it sadly.

We're curently having our annual writers festival in Melbourne, more literary than Fantasy or Sci Fi specific.

All for now...

Well SwanCon is this side of the desert, so would be a little difficult to make it. Not sure how much they charge to get in. I know a years membership seemed quite high but if I save hard should be able to join next year.

I hope you find the time to go the the writers festival. Even though more literary it would surely be very interesting and informative. That's what I liked when I was a member of the 3rd Age University.

Re: SwanCon

YEP 3rd Age University is really good, know quite a few people enrolled in these courses actually..

I've attended some of the Writer Festival as it was interesting even if it wasn't fantasy...

Smile Re: SwanCon

Hope you get the chance to go to the Writers Festival. If you do attend, then perhaps, if you have the time, you could tell us a little about it.

I have no doubt that there would be some interesting topics raised there. They might have some bearing on some of the isssues raised here on the Forums.
