What did you think of St.Anger if anything? I love it but a lot of the people I have spoken to about it think it's rubbish. | |

| S&M is great love how well the symphony comliments most of the songs. adn the imperial march is fantastic hehe = Geek boy St anger is rubbish, it does grow on you and there are a couple of decent tracks on it, but all toghether as an album I didnt get on with it. |

| Knivesout no more | Re: Just discovered this Honestly, I found Kamen's orchestral arrangements overblown and predictable. There was no attempt to integrate thrash music with an orchestra in an interesting way - it was just Kamen doing that paint-by-numbers classical thing in the background while Metallica does a relatively tepid live workout. It's a nice idea, but the execution is so safe. Most of those songs sounded much more symphonic in their original format. It's odd, because people think of them as such a rip-off band, but one album that really explores the interesting new sounds you can create with a rock band+orchestra is SIlverchair's Neon Ballroom. Listen to Emotion Sickness and you'll know why I find S&M so tepid in comparison. |

| The Wicked Sword Maiden | Re: Just discovered this I thought Metallica's S & M was very good. The symphony orchestra seems to give it depth. A number of artists have played or sang with an orchestra, here in Australia. The last Kiss concert was well recived. I flew from WA to Melbourne on a Friday night, listened to Elton John with symphony orchestra on the Saturday night, then flew back to Perth Sunday morning. Worth every dollar! |

| Re: Just discovered this Oh yes I have had the album since its release. It is ingenoius how they have composed around the thrashing metal. ![]() Brillient stuff, sadly they had to do songs from the black album onwards when Metallica sold out. ![]() Oh well cant be too fussy! |

| Re: Just discovered this I would love to go to see Metallica in concert however I wouldnt unless they vowed to only do thier old stuff (I know this isnt going to happen), I cannot stand thier new music the passion they once had seems to have gone. Now they are to comercial and Imo you can tell they are only producing music for the cash... ![]() Anyone remember metallica when they refused point blank to do music vids? They were so kewel then. Dont get me wrong I still have an enormous amout of respect for the guys. Also I think it was unfair for them to fire Dave Mustang for kicking thier dog... he was drunk... ![]() |
