two things come to mind from these comments:

First... "Warp 10"? It's interesting that 10 is a round number. It implies that the originator of the Warp "unit" had known that there were only 10 units until you got to a wall of some sort. Of course, we know that whoever would have invented warp units (Cochrine maybe???) had no idea what happened after 10. It just seems strange that 10 times the speed of light (assuming warp 1 = light speed) is the magical number.

Second... Are we sure that the Transwarp drive unit that Voyager experimented with is based on similar concepts and the Borg Transwarp? They may be completely different. It seems, at first thought, that Voyager was working on the idea of "breaking" warp 10. Whereas Borg seem to simply slip into something that bypasses ("trans"/accross) warp.

I don't know. Just thinking out loud.
