Re: Book Hauls! When I got home from my evening shift, I found a package waiting for me on the doorstep, containing: H. P. Lovecraft: A Comprehensive Bibliography, by S. T. Joshi This is a revision and expansion of his H. P. Lovecraft and Lovecraft Criticism: An Annotated Bibliography (1981), to include not only the most recent publications of Lovecraft in English and foreign languages, but also the most comprehensive listing of Lovecraftian criticism. I went for the hardbound edition, even though it's a bit more pricey, because I know that as much as I use this sort of thing, it would actually be much more cost-effective in the long-run, as the trade paperback would simply not stand up to that kind of wear-and-tear....

Re: Book Hauls! OK, my most recent haul. Tender Morsels - Margo Lanagan *Lanagan is a Sydney based writer and a very fine novelist indeed. This novel won the World Fantasy Award (novel) for 2009. I met her last year along with China Mieville and it was a treat listening to them speak and chatting with them after. The Shadow Year - Jeffrey Ford *Ford must surely be amongst the best and most celebrated of contemporary Fantasy writers, albeit his fan base does not appear to be that huge....yet This novel was joint winner with Lanagan's Tender Morsels for the World Fantasy award (novel) 2009. Nebula Awards Showcase 2010 *A continuation of this excellent publication detailing both extracts and entire texts from the various Nebula Award nominees and winners of 2009. 2 Graphic Novels: Fall Of Gilead - Stephen King *Next in the beautifully produced series based on King's Dark Tower series. Instructions- Neil Gaiman, illustrated by Charles Vess. Another collaboration by two of the best in the business as writer and illustrator respectively.

Re: Book Hauls! Not SFF, but I just got The Blind Watchmaker and Dr. Tatiana's Sex Advice for all Creation. Will probably stop purchasing now as I'm still deciding my next destination. Dr. Tatiana's Sex Advice for all Creation is pretty entertaining. You have animals writing in to Dr. Tatiana asking for her advice. Scientific facts wrapped up as part of an advice column. Fun.

| <3D~ | Re: Book Hauls! Just got Watcher of the Dead by J.V. Jones (and am annoyed at the size of it, as it's not the same size as my other J.V. Jones books so won't look so nice on my shelf), King Rat by China Mieville, as I've been meaning to get that for a while and thought as I'm on a spending spree I might as well... The Black Angel by John Connolly (thanks to a suggestion by Allegra) and The Queen's Necklace by... I forget who. |

Re: Book Hauls! Went on a bit of a bender the last week and grabbed: Retribution Falls - Chris Wooding (recommended here and elsewhere compared to my beloved Firefly) then a pair of non-fiction books, which is unusual for me, though they're both non-fiction tales of "adventure" I guess you could say: In the Heart of the Sea Surviving the River
