| Re: Book Hauls! Picked three books today cos Borders was closing down and there was twenty percent off! Bloodheir - Brian Ruckley, book 2 of a new epic fantasy series, was inpressed with the first book (nice world building BR) and have been meaning to pick it up for a while (resisted buying book 3 'Fall of Thanes', will wait till new year for that one.) Cursor's Fury - Jim Butcher, this is the next in the Alera series of which I'm currently reading book to, Academ's Fury. Four Days In June - Iain Gale, REALLY looking forward to this one, historical millitary fiction, highly recommended to me. |

We took a bus for a day trip to Seattle today and found STAR WOLF by Ted White in Pike's Place Market. Published in 1971, it's "the long-awaited sequel to PHOENIX PRIME and THE SORCERESS OF QAR. I have those but was not aware of STAR WOLF and so feel good I could complete a trilogy I didn't know existed. Cost $2 which is cheap for downtown Seattle. Good shape with not-so-hot cover by Charles Moll who has done better.

![]() I'll post my thoughts once I get to these. I'm also picking up something over the Christmas break by Javier Marias, whom Bolano and several other noteworthies have described as the greatest of Spain's modern writers. Can you please tell me what book(s) of his you read? I seem to recall you mentioning this author in earlier dispatches.

| Triceratops | Re: Book Hauls! Meg by Steve Alten. Why do I keep thinking this book is so derrivative of Jaws, with only a bigger shark? Because it is? And this has turned into a small series. Good action adventure and research, but no real surprises here. Chris |
