| Re: Book Hauls! Yesterday from Bookmooch: Wolf in Shadow by David Gemmel Never tried any of his stuff as he's known for high fantasy. But this strikes me as being like Mad Max/The Crow territory. It does mean if I like it I have to find the other 2 in the series... |

![]() Gemmell is as far as adventure oriented fantasy can get from being a High Fantasy. You choose a really good Gemmell book. Its awesome one cause of the post apocalyptic/western thing. There isnt a Crow thing its just dark fantasy/low magic stuff that seem like Crow to you. It will be something to everyone that they know that are somewhat similar. If you like it then you will like all of his books. Since the main character is similar to some of his other heroes and its seen as one of the best books/series he has done. | |

| Re: Book Hauls! Birthday presents, I always get books but Ive still got vouchers from last year that I haven't got around to using so this year I explained about the SF Masterworks, how I had so much trouble finding them and then provided a list of the ones I already owned and the best bit is that everyone thought it was such an easy and cheap way to get me a pressie I'd actually like that I'm refreshing the list now for christmas .(and I owned the Clarke ones already though not all in Masterworks) |

| Re: Book Hauls! Ordered 16 books over the weekend - and I was doing so fine - had managed over 3 months without any book buying. Oh well, back to the drawing board - new plan required. |
