Re: Book Hauls!

YAY I get to post in here again - unfortunatly parents don't use amazon and local bookshops are woefully understocked in fantasy!
but I have a book!

Le Morte D'Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory - a hardback illustrated edition! And a gift

Amazon.com: Passion: Jude Morgan: Books

Amazon.com: Written on the Body: Jeanette Winterson: Books

The Lore of the Land is a book on legends and lore of Britain; Imagine a Day is a children's book, quite exquisitely illustrated....

Flesh & Blood; I've not yet found a link giving the sort of information you've asked about....

Re: Book Hauls!

The Cat is very good at finding things I would either not have known about or would be unlikely to have picked up myself, which turn out to be absolutely wonderful books. She's very keen on good writing and the power and resonance of words (being an editor) and has a very broad range of interests. Though I've not yet had a chance to read any of these, I've yet to be disappointed in any of the things she's sent; more likely I'll find a new writer whose work I'll want to go looking for....

Re: Book Hauls!

Carlucci (the omnibus edition that includes all 3 Carlucci novels) by Richard Paul Russo
Gordath Wood by Patricie Sarath (Elvet's description looked interesting, so I thought I'd try it).
Claimed by Shadow by Karen Chance -- An urban fantasy
Hell and Earth by Elizabeth Bear -- Queen Elizabeth I and Faerie
The Final Sacrifice by Patricia Bray -- standard fantasy

With the exception of the Soseki (about which I am, I'm afraid, totally ignorant), I am curious what you'll think of these....

Re: Book Hauls!

I picked up a package from amazon at the post office today. It contained The Rought Guide to to Universe, second edition, by John Scalzi (known here mainly as a science fiction writer, but he writes non-fiction too) and The Year of Living Biblically by A.J.Jacobs - also non-fiction as he writes about his own attempt to follow all of the commandments and rules of the Bible for one year.

This sounds really interesting, would love to hear what you think of it.
