Re: Book Hauls!

Oh, joy. Just arrived in the mail Jennifer Fallon's The Gods of Amyrantha and The Palace of Impossible Dreams. These are books two and three of her series, The Tide Lords. The first book was great, and I'm looking forward to diving into these.

Re: Book Hauls!

Amazon.com certainly is my friend lately; I'm finding books on there that are most elusive on Amazon.co.uk. I have just purchased Behind the Attic Wall, a book that I literally read to pieces when younger (it wasn't in great condition before hand, granted, as it was my sister's, but I commandeered it and read it again and again). I also decided (after a little finance figuration, to make sure I won't starve because of my inability to not buy books) to splash out and get a hardback version.

I cant buy books as often since second hand SFF is practicly impossible to find where i live. I try books by library first always.

When i have better cash flow, i plan to visit Stockholm and old town which is full of second hand stores full of SFF.

Re: Book Hauls!

That stinks. I've got a ton of great used book stores around here. Love it.

Very fortunate.

I need to look for a book on amazon i think. Supposed to be getting The Gods of Mars from bookmooch but the sender has gone AWOL. Promised to send it back in April but no joy. Its the only available copy there too and its annoying cos its the second book in the series and i read book 1 ages ago thinking i'd be getting the second book soon . Yea,right!

Re: Book Hauls!

Well, if you've no objection reading it from a screen:

The Gods Of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs : Arthur's Classic Novels

or, for a more readable typeface:

The Project Gutenberg E-text of The Gods of Mars, by Edgar Rice Burroughs

And in the last two days, I've received: that issue of Weird Tales with the new Elric story (and with an article in a series on Lovecraft -- seems I'm going to need to pick up some of the other issues....)
Logorrhea, ed. John Klima
Blood, by Hans Heinz Ewers
The House of the Black Ring, by Fred Lewis Pattee

I can imagine it, just don't like it. It's better to lie/sit on the couch having a cuppa and a cookie/biscuit and enjoying myself.

I print 'em out at work and read the loose pages in bed at night.

I put them on my phone in MobiPocket format and the I can lie on the couch, or in bed, and read it wherever I want. Besides, then the software always remembers where I last stopped, I don't have to hunt for the page
