Re: Book Hauls!

I know.

I love these library sales.

We have them two times a year here in Seattle. They fill an old military hanger with books, tons, and tons of books.

MMs are 50 cents, trades and HBs are $1 (up from .75 last year).

The SF section is the first to get hit, so you have to get there early and put up with some very rude re-sellers, but it is totally worth it. I went with two friends and we all looked out for each other.

Nice!
Library book sale here in Seattle, so many books!
That makes me depressing on so many levels. But congratz to that amazing haul, only the Heinleins makes me so jealous :P

Makes me wish i had a contact in places that would buy those books and send them to me.

You have bookmooch ? You would make a killing if you didnt like some of those books.

Dr Bloodmoney only will cost me 15-20 $ in my last haul......

A site where you give away books and get points so you can get other books you want from other people.

I used for rare books that i have trouble findings but are easy to find you live in US and other places.

Nothing cooler than give away crappy books and getting two ERB,Wells and co for them.

Also used to get books the library doesnt have. It saves me money.

It might not be a good deal for you since you can find classic books so cheap but its a good place to dump books that other people will love to have.

Used SF books are pretty easy to come by here, especially in Seattle where there are a ton of used book stores. That is if you don't mind an old, worn MM or something. Most books I buy to read, not to collect, so it works out great for me.

I'll check the site out, though, thanks for the info.

Let's hope it's better than the first one.

I've never seen such a fantastic premise and set up go nowhere, faster, and with more carelessness for dramatic tension.

/sorry - still bitter over the let down of the first one.

Good one.

Rucker's pseudo-sequel, Spaceland is also good.

Anyone seen the Flatland animated film released not too long ago?

Interesting because I didn't mind this one and several other members are of the same opinion. I agree it wasn't a masterpiece and delivered less than it promised eventhough VG included it in their Masterwork series but I liked it for being different. Michael Moorcock seems to be enamoured with this latest one and he is someone whose opinion I tend to take notice of.

I'll let you know how it fares then....

Well, I will finally be able to read GRRM's short story's, The Hedge Knight and The Sworn Sword. Been wanting to for awhile and just got the books they are included in...as well as some others. I am a McCaffrey fan as well, so I am quite excited.

Legends - Edited by Robert Silverberg including stories by Terry Goodkind, GRRM, Anne McCaffrey
Legends II - Edited by Robert Silverberg including stories by Terry Brooks, Diana Gabaldon, Neil Gaiman, GRRM, Anne McCaffrey
The Singing Sword - Jack Whyte
The Autobiography of Henry VIII - Margaret George

Both of those Legends anthologies are excellent and I've got the entires eries by Jack Whyte, well worth a look for any Arthurian fans.

I am a big King Arthur fan, and just finished the first book, The Skystone, a couple weeks ago. I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the series. Although I think my new Legends books will be next to read when I finish The Name of the Wind.
