Omphalos: That's a great haul; some wonderful stuff in there. Congratulations! As for me... thanks to our Malaysian feline, I am now the proud owner of: Chakori, by Chandrasekhar Kambar Never Let Me Go, by Kazuo Ishiguro My Life as Emperor, by Su Tong The Ice Queen, by Alice Hoffman Family Matters, by Rohinton Mistry and three books by Brian Stableford: The Werewolves of London, The Angel of Pain, and The Carnival of Destruction. Thank you, Cat.... | |

| Re: Book Hauls! Maus I : A Survivor's Tale : My Father Bleeds History by Art Spiegelman Maus II: A Survivor's Tale: And Here My Troubles Began by Art Spiegelman V for Vendetta, Allan Moore and David Lloyd (I already have this, but my copy is battred from a few rereadings) Fables Vol. 1: Legends in Exile by Bill Willingham and Lan Fables Vol. 2: Animal Farm by Bill Willingham and Mark Got these from a tip off by a few members i respect a lot, in this forum, this is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for!, I also looked for the Preacher series of graphic novels but they hadn't even heard of this but fate was kind enough I was there at the same time the manager happen to be was visiting, and apparently it so happened that I was the only one looking for this sort of stuff, so he took pity on me and ordered the whole series, which I will be receiving shortly .Cheer's, DeepThought |

| Re: Book Hauls! Just received in the mail today: H. P. Lovecraft: A Critical Study, by Donald R. Burleson. Though I've read it more than once before, I've never owned a copy (all the copies I'd come across had either been outrageously expensive or in very poor condition -- this one was both reasonably priced and, having looked it over now, in almost pristine conditon). One of the best general books on HPL's work, an excellent introductory volume, and with some good meaty insights (and critical readings) that even a seasoned Lovecraftian can enjoy revisiting.... |
