| Re: Book Hauls! I just bought books 2 and 3 of the Dragonlance Chronices as well as Tad Wililams To Green Angel Tower Part I (I've heard time and again it's not worth reading the two books in the series before that), as well as Robert Silverberg's Majipoor Chronicles. I enjoy Majipoor's mix of fantasy and science fiction. |

| Re: Book Hauls! I am about to try my hand at Terry Goodkind's "A Sword of Truth" series. A friend reccomended it after telling me it raised intriguing philosophical questions. If anyone has any comments on this author or similarily related statements over his series please forward it to me, and thank you. |

Nesa: Well, I'm not going to be buying the way I was a few months ago, but I hope to catch up on some things I've been having to let go for a while. And yes, a few extra hours/days/months/years/decades/centuries/millennia would be of considerable use, I agree.....

![]() On the second... What, are you kidding? I intend to patent it and make a mint! ![]() And, as my first post on these was my ordering them, thought I'd mention getting a few of the books mentioned: A Winter Wish, which I got for a ridiculously low price though it's in darned near mint condition; and two of the Tolkien books (The Lost Road and The Shaping of Middle Earth), which I was a bit trepidatious about, as they are used copies... but they're quite lovely, one can scarcely tell they've been opened, let alone read! Also Machen's Dreads and Drolls came today; another beautiful book, which looks even more promising now that I've glanced through the contents.... I'm also ordering a copy of Truman J. Spencer's A Cyclopedia of the Literature of Amateur Journalism -- one of the more important source books on this field, and very important for my Lovecraftian researches, originally published in the 1890s and recently brought back into print (though if I chose to, I could go for a copy of the original for a surprisingly low price....)

| Flaming Poltergeist | Re: Book Hauls! Hardly a huge haul, but the first book I've bought in a while (and I'm not going to search back a few pages to see if this is true because it'll probably turn out that I only bought one last week or something ) Plus it's for my course, so it's not as exciting. W.H Auden: Selected Poems.Methinks I need to go on another book haul soon...wonder if there are any deals on Amazon.... |

| Flaming Poltergeist | Re: Book Hauls! Yay, Battle Royale! I recently read that, it's a very good book. Very brutal throughout (wondrously...I mean...terribly gory in many places) but also has quite a few very moving moments. Really enjoyed it; hope you do, too! |

| Re: Book Hauls! I love Hesse's work so much. If you ever find yourself in B&N or some such store with a bit of time on your hand, I suggest if you haven't already, reading through Journey To The East. It's just a wonderful bit of prose that had me smiling and laughing. The Book of the New Sun Gene Wolfe. Fevre Dream George R.R. Martin - I'm tired of waiting for Dragons. |

| Re: Book Hauls! I traded in about 5 or 6 books for the following: Probability Moon - Nancy Kress - HC - US $1 (I've never read anything by her) Bios - Robert Charles Wilson - HC - $1 (was a fan of Darwinia) Jackdaws - Ken Follett - HC - $.50 Moonfall - Jack McDevitt - HC - $1 Vacuum Diagrams - Stephen Baxter - PB - $3.95 And a couple of others... I don't remember exactly what they are, so I will have to go check. |
