So, the latest one I have snuck into the bookcase is Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan, it seems popular with some of us.

| Re: Book Hauls! Try to read without thinking of the hype and focus only the book. I read when i didnt know it was as famous as it is. Worked brilliant for me , i was surprised. I have a thread about it by the way in case you wanna talk about it when you finish the book. |

It comes in handy when you realize you need more bookshelves. (Because -- though I've never tried it -- trying to sneak an entire bookcase into the house has got to be very, very difficult.) Last edited by Teresa Edgerton; 28th September 2007 at 10:13 PM. Reason: typo

| Re: Book Hauls! Just Perdido Street Station by China Miéville. Just one. And it's been a MONTH! I read three pages a day. It never happened. I'm beginning to get worried. Well, I admire the author, but, three pages of descriptions between dialogues... Maybe I am a character+plot person. Thank you for shaking me out of my slumber with your wealth of titles. I'll buy other books tomorrow. I'll do just that. |

Morton... well, this one is very much a bit of self-justification (he was one of the earliest people to be kicked out of this country... not only for setting up the infamous Maypole of Merrymount and scandalizing the Puritans by having pagan dances and such... but by selling hard liquor, gunpowder, guns, and ammunition to the Indians.... Well, he was showing the true entrepreneurial spirit.... ![]() )
