Re: Batman Begins! Saw this film on saturday. What can I say?? Absolutely brilliant. Cast is perfect. Christian Bale has won me over for best Batman / Wayne, only just overtaking Keaton. Good to see the franchise getting back to the comic book roots, instead of "pick an enemy or 2 and try and write a film about it" approach of Batman and Robin / Batman Forever. 10 / 10 definitely.

Re: Batman Begins! I got the dvd for christmas, I was a bit cautious (is that the right word?) at first but I enjoyed the film a lot, there was nothing wrong with it, I loved the way it was filmed and the strong story - looking forward to the next film ![]()

Re: Batman Begins! What impressed me most is they didn't try and make it this neon filled show. The colors were mute and controlled and the acting was basic not ... fluff. After Keaton left the Batman franchise behind it was a decline that couldn't be overturned. Until now IMO.

Re: Batman Begins! I can't believe I haven't posted on this thread!!! I saw the film a couple of months ago and absolutely loved it! It is by far the truest to the Batman stories and thoroughly entertaining. Christian Bale was fantastic as was Gary Oldman and I have to say it, Michael Caine as Alfred! I loved them all! I especially liked the fact that the director delved into Bruce Wayne's past and we got to know a little more about him, his time spent with Liam Neeson's character was very insightful and explained a few things for me. Anyway, simply brilliant, cannot wait for the second one! xx Edit: Can't believe I wrote Albert instead of Alfred. It's because my son's name is Alfred and I always get confused as to whether it's the same or not (don't ask, my brain's very complex and rarely works as it should!!!)

I agree, I was a bit put off by a member of family's comments, so I didn't get to the cinema to see it, I wish I had now, excellent showcase of actors, especially Gary Oldman, who I think, can do no wrong ![]()

Re: Batman Begins! I think this is one of the best films ever made! I loved all the darkness and finding out why and how he became Batman. All the actors were amazing and the soundtrack was just stunning.

Re: Batman Begins! I just saw this for the first time and agree pretty much with all the comments here. After the first half-hour I was thinking 'Do we really need all this background?', we already know about his parent's death, his fear of bats, but it grew on me. It was an excellent cast, though I think Gary Oldman was wasted, and I find it hard to picture Liam Neeson as a Jedi or Rob Roy, so I had trouble here too. Michael Caine, on the other hand, was surprisingly good as Alfred. Did I like the explanation for Batman's toys? Well yes obviously, but that wasn't the best part of the film. I liked the way it was much darker. These comic book film adaptations are certainly getting better in recent years. If I changed anything, I'd remove the love interest.

Re: Batman Begins! I always thought the other movies should have shown Batman from the criminal's perspective. It's what you don't see that is scary. I love how this movie did that. I was also glad they cut all ties to any previous films.
