My view on the film is that they finally got it right.
Absolutely! What I heard is that they literally told everyone involved in the film to forget all the batman movies to date. I also head they were directly trying for the atmosphere of Frank Miller's batman works. I thought the film was great fun.

Re: Batman Begins!

I really liked this film. It was SO much better than the last fiasco that came on the screen. I could've done without Katie Holmes though.

Re: Batman Begins!

I quite enjoyed this film, but Tim Burton's first Batman was so beautifully made. And eerie, and horrible.

Re: Batman Begins!

I wasnt very impressed with the new batman. There were some niggling aspects which really didn't fit in with his character IMO. But then I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to film adaptions (I'm not satisfied unless it's absolutley correct!)

Re: Batman Begins!

I just watched this last night - brilliant film!

The dialogue was crisp, filmatography was excellent, and there was a lot of good character in it.

Very good supporting cast, too - Gary Oldman as Gordon, Michael Caine as Alfred, Morgan Freeman as the source for the technology, and Rutger Hauer as director of Wayne Enterprises.

What was really interesting as well is that both the male and female leads were pretty plain looking, too - almost as if they opted for actors, rather than leads to stand around just looking pretty.

Frankly, I'm surprised to see a film of this quality come out of Hollywood - it's as if the bankers were so desperate to revive the Batman franchise that they let the creative people make the film for once.

Definitely recommended.
