Re: Batman Begins! I couldn't believe what an arse I'd been about this movie... Bought it on DVD today and watched it tonight... OMG!!!! What a great movie... Thankfully Michael Caine wasn't as annoying as I'd had feared - though Liam Neeson made a lousy Ra's Al Ghul... Much preferred David Warner's voice in the cartoon... ![]() I thought the smattering of "A" list actors in support roles was good... Morgan Freeman was perfect as Lucious Fox and Gary Oldman played a TOTALLY believeable James Gordon - loved the whispered "sorry" as he skidded the Batmodile off the parked cars!!! PRICELESS!!! The movie felt better than previous ones... Not the pathetic comic-book artificial colours... But something bigger and mentally darker even in the light of day... Christian Bale was a very good Bruce Wayne/Batman... Though where was Harvey Dent??? And bringing The Joker in at the end was a nice touch for any suspected sequels!!! ![]()

Re: Batman Begins! Yep... It is more believeable... You could believe that a man could go through this... Tim Burton's was very comic-book-ish... Though I loved Michael Keaton... He was a fantastic Batman... Remember going to the cinema to see the film... ![]()

Re: Batman Begins! My personal preference remains for the Burton film. I found BB rather drawn-out, boring and stilted. And "more believeable" only means that some pat explanations are given, it doesn't really much more convince you that a man would think of dressing up as a bat and fighting petty criminals hand-to-hand in his bid to control crime.

Re: Batman Begins! Question... Okies I have a question. Wonder if anyone can help. At the end, with the joker card, was that to tie in the other movies? Or are they starting from scratch and that was a pre-cursor to a sequel?

My take on the situation was that this was a "do-over" or "reboot" if you will. These will not tie into the other films. My view on the film is that they finally got it right. | |

Re: Batman Begins! Question... Joel Schumaker was a complete ARSE when it came to the follow-up Batman movies... And you are right, this one did FEEL right... I enjoyed it immensely... But miss Michael Gough (and Efram Zimbalist Jnr's voice - in the cartoon) as Alfred... ![]() Why is it, no one ever does Alfred Penworthy as The Parasite??? (that was what he ended up being, wasn't it???)
