And I heard that Xena/Hercules comment... I happen to like those two shows...

The factor that made the Lord of the Rings series such an overwhelming success was Peter Jackson's absolute love for the books. He was the impetus that drove the project. It wasn't a movie studio that assembled a team. I think this same kind of thing is necessary for the WOT movie to be of the same caliber and I wonder who it is that they got as director and writing team?

Jordan didn't sell movie rights. He sold the rights to make a television series, and it is currently a project under construction. The process won't move for a while, because of Jordan's present condition, and the fact they have barely started.

Making movies based on WoT will take probably about 20 years, so just think about the cast - how many actors can commit to making so many movies for so much time? And can it really live up to what we've pictured in our imagination?
