Couldn't the webmaster find someone to help him? After all this site has nearly 6000members
Firstly, I would imagine that there will be an announcement of whatever the current state is at imminently, since, as you say, today was previously mentioned.

Secondly, an answer in two parts:
a) there are not 6000 members - though there have been 6000 people register accounts. Many, far too many, have been duplicates and deleted, some have been mis-typed "real" account-names, others are the many people who've been and left over the years etc. I suspect perhaps as high as 50% of those 6000 accounts have actually been deleted or disabled. Of the remainder, only a few hundred will be "active" users/members of the site
b) there are a dozen or more people help in various ways with the site, with administration, user management, question setting, episode data etc. But, only AusGate himself does the coding for the site operation. There are bound to be loads of bugs to iron out before it can go live, and I'm sure we'd all prefer it to work to spec before it gets made public.

Remember, as he has said before, this is not just a re-hash of the existing site, it is a total re-write, from the ground up, with no re-use of the existing code. Not something that can be tested easily or thoroughly overnight!

Added by edit: a System Message has now been posted, advising of a few days delay - the weekend at the earliest for the new site being "released"
