Re: what is going to happen in the end?

The ending of book 10 is probably the best part of it!
So I'd finish it for no other reason than that!

btw welcome to the forums, rogerrabit

Most are fine. Faile is just boring though.

Re: what is going to happen in the end?

thx for the welcome winter
i hope some of the main charcters die soon to create a bit of tragedy, i think it would spice up the storyline.
and maybe rand should cheer up a bit its not the end of the world lol.

the first 5 were ok, the next two...er.. windy but still ok... and then.....
hell by then I'd already invested so much time and money there didn't seem any point in stopping. This time however I have not paid for the e-book prologue Embers... although I am told it is pacy and quite good. Perhaps this time there will be more to read about than baths, dresses and Faile...

Sorry everyone but I am looking forward to reading more of the WOT. I wouldn't mind if he wrote another 10 books!!!!!
(Hey stop throwing things at me!)

Morrain will certainly return & Egwene will become Mother of The White Tower. Rand will fight and overcome the Forsaken but the 'inner' Lews Therin will die.

I personally like the way he writes and what he writes - end of discussion for me!

I have to say, while I appreciate the fact that some people might not enjoy long stories, a lot of depth, side-plots, and detail, I don't see what the big deal about Jordan finishing up as soon as possible is. Anybody with half a wit can quickly run through a main storyline about good and evil where the big, bad evil Lord is defeated by a mere young man wielding magic...but fantasy is already overly saturated with such books. What makes the Wheel of Time so different and interesting is the exact thing you're all complaining about: the three-dimensional world Jordan has created. The fact that there are a lot of things going on at once, a lot of detail to those things, and plots within plots, twist upon twist is what makes it so very much like reality. I'm not saying he should go on forever, I'm just saying that we shouldn't take what made this story famous, it's depth, the world's vast history, and the vastness of it all, and ask Jordan to throw that away simply in the interests of finishing a pretty orthodox main plotline so we can finally sleep at night.

But I do, as always, enjoy reading all your posts (:

Re: what is going to happen in the end?

There are a lot of predictions from Min and prophesies to be fulfilled yet. Thre's still Mat giving up half the light of the world to save the world & placing his own eye on a scale. Moiraine has to be rescued. Aviendha is going to have babies, & Elayne has to give birth. Rand ends up on a funeral pyre with Aviendha, Min & Elayne around him. Just to name a few.

Haha....I think I know how you feel. Everytime a new book comes out I would start reading them all over again, starting from New Sping. But I must say that each main character has their own attractions. The thing that 'sets my teeth on edge' are those Aes Sedais, all of them, rebels & the tower lot.

Mainly I agree that if the end is all crammed in the 12th book, it would leave us feeling cheated abit. It would be better if RJ does the Last Battle in two books, to tie up all the loose ends he has created i.s.o just simply explaining them all away. What I would love to see is how the Last Battle is done. Everyone all at one place.... or would there be 3 different fronts (Mat, Perrin & Rand).

Lews Therin will die with the help of Alivia, Rand somehow 'reborn again'.
Elayne and Aviendha will be sister-wives: Aviendha to be roofmistress to the remnants of the remnants, Elayne to marry Rand who is of royal blood himself. I'm not sure that Min is supposed to survive too, since the is no mention apart from that she has to share him with Elayne and Aviendha.
How everybody will deal with each other when peace comes is also a mystery since few of the nobles support Rand out of free choice.

As for the rest, there's too much loose ends lying around for us to discern which will be expounded in the final book.

I forgot about this one, Galad will end up with Berelain.
