'Wish you were here' was the song played at a friend's funeral a few years back. It was so beautiful. It was also played at Douglas Adams funeral, by none other than David Gilmour.

I haven't made my opinion on it yet because in Kiev the movie starts in cinemas only from June, 9.

Association with funeral is not what I would like to have in mind when it concerns Wish You Were Here which is life-asserting if not always by texts but surely by its emotional impact.

Hmm - you know, I think song lyrics are only profound if you listen to them in the context of your life. Some songs might seem ordinary until you're going through what they're singing about!

A f'instance.
In university, I liked Radiohead along with lots of other bands. Bought Pablo Honey albulm and forgot about it for a few years.
Then I fell in love with this gorgeous girl. My timing sucked however, as she was (and is) engaged to be married to her boyfriend of about 8 years.
That's when the lyrics to "Creep" really started making sense to me...

Eh meant to add. Those lyrics were by Pat Benetar and the song is called Invincible. It's a great song, and the first time I heard it was as the background of a Gundam Wing AMV. Anyone who has seen that particular anime and can probably guess why I feel so attached to this song.
