revenge of the crap like most people of my generation,i loved star wars .this is not star wars,it lacks the magic and excitment of the originals. i felt i should have been moved by this movie but felt nothing.remember the darth vader funeral scene in rotj ,that moved me and when lando blows up the death star, that had me on the edge of my seat.im grown up now and no a good movie when i see it,this film is very poor, rushed, bad acting, sulky kevin the teenager hayden having his temper tantrums,no large scale battle scenes,to many lightsaber battles, that they have no dramatic effect, ewan mcregor smirking all the way through the movie.what really ruined the whole movie was one scene at the end when anakin has become vader and he finds out padme has gone to her mothers with his kids and shouts noooooooooooooooo. vader was an icon and now they have turned him into this sad pathetic wimp. the originals were the defining movies of my generation, these films were made of the back of those and lack any real film magic.the worst thing is can i watch the originals without thinking about this pile of crap.lucas i now beleive is devoid of any of the talent he once had.even my 7 yr old son didnt like it he prefers harry potter.beware, donate your money to charity instead of putting into lucascorp, rent it on dvd in a few months.

Re: revenge of the crap I haven't seen this yet but quite a few reviewers are actually saying that this is the best of the new three. George Lucas has already stated in interviews that he never originally intended to create episodes 1, 2 & 3 and only wrote a backstory to flesh out the characters of the original trilogy. Perhaps only now, we are seeing why he should probably have left things as they were...but then again, Lucas is well known for his incessant tinkering. ![]()

Re: revenge of the crap I liked the 3rd one. The scene where Darth Vader screams "Nooooooooooo" was one of those scenes where you know it's coming and yet don't really want it to because it'll ruin the ending and personally I don't think it should have been included... PERCON

Out of the prequels, it was definitely the best. It tried really hard. Still cannot ever hope to compare to Empire Strikes Back though. Blame George Lucas for insisting on directing all three of the new trilogy. He is a great visionary, but a really rubbish director. | |

Re: revenge of the crap It seems to be quite popular these days to give the 3 new Star Wars films a good stomping. Personally, I have to say that I enjoyed all 3 much more than Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back (nothing will ever beat Return of the Jedi). I think a big problem is the dreaded nostalgia factor - everyone has built the old films up so much in their minds they're judging the new ones against unrealistic standards. True there are some plot holes, bad acting and bad script in the new 3, but have a good hard look at the old ones! I don't think I've watched a film in a long while where a fight scene gave me quite as much thrill as the Darth Maul scene in Phantom Menace. The battle scene in Attack of the Clones was full of imaginative design and how can you possible dis the Yoda fight! The whole plot surrounding the recent 3 films is vastly underated (some people I've talked to don't even get it!) There, I've said my piece ... long live JarJar Binks! ![]()
