| Memories of Ice US cover ![]() http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...books&n=507846 Well, at least its better than the previous ones. Actually, I quite like this cover. It's nearing the quality of the originals. Maybe for House of Chains they'll manage to not have a token warrior woman on the cover... Nonethelass, and improvment on their attempts for GotM and DhG ![]() |

Looks okay, but vast improvements could have been made.

| Re: Memories of Ice US cover WHOA! someone just posted this cover art a few days ago on another forum. Apparently the dude with the swords is Grendel, which makes sense. It's OK but I much prefer the UK coverart!! ![]() |

LOL! You mean Gruntle, I felt the jacketart could have used more darkness and gloom for the siege of Capustan (which is more the best rendered battles I've ever read in fantasy literature). Maybe even include Buke, Bachelian, and Broach somewheres on it too *wink*.

Exactly, hehehe. Haven't given Steven Erikson a recent re-read which equates to a brain aneurysm. Hahaha! Seriously, this is rich and complex fantasy full of some serious drama *sniff, sniff* and action.

| Re: Memories of Ice US cover It's a pretty poor cover I think, but then we've come to expect that from the American Malazan covers. It conveys absolutely nothing of the sense of the book, again making it seem more like a Salvatore book than an Erikson. They're putting a lot of people off the series with these kinds of covers - it was better than the other two (the artist read the book? Or was at least told who two of the main characters were this time), but still nothing like as good as the UK covers (and I think the UK Memories of Ice cover is one of the two worst UK covers). |
