Help finding book

I posted the same poat in 'Books and Literature' but I reckon I'll be more likely to find an answer here

Some time ago ( by that I mean 7/8 years) when I was about eight or nine, I bought a book in a library sale, read it and lost it. I cannot remember its name/ author, so it may seem a little odd that I am trying to find it. Some pertinent plot points are below. It was a hard backed book, and I'm fairly sure it had the word Sun in it's title.

*Set in China.
*Emperor with many wives. Old wife is abandoned for new beautiful wife (old wife later indulges in recreation with her guards- woman's name something like Fei-ling, and her companion is Pei-lung)
*A man called Ben married his sister called Meg. Their son (I think called Tom) ended up a mute, and is in a relationship with the child of his father's enemy.
*The enemy dreams of a future where mankind lives in pods, and where our bodies don't move, but our minds are active and free
* One of the plot points is that a man meets a beautiful girl, makes no move, test drives one of his father's pods and ends up virtually killing her, in cyber world.
*At the end the emperor's beautiful new wife starts detonating convicts skulls, and the emperor's guard rebels against the old wife because she forced one of their officers into sex.

Confused hey? Nevermind, if anyone recognises this, please contact me- it's be much appreciated!
