Re: Gemmell Movie? no i am saying that if you are going to say something bad about someone....you should hide behind a computer screen.....and secondly at least back up what you say with facts.....just throwing something out there...is just what Gemmell's characters would never do.....they are heroes....enough said.....

Re: Gemmell Movie? Ok, addressing 'hiding behind a screen', although i dont have a pic to show, I'll let you know that most people, if not all, operate on the web through a nickname and choose not to show a picture of themselves. Their not all cowards, are they? Secondly, I will admit that it was wrong of me to say that Miller would be completely wrong. I should have said that I didn't think he was best. You should never make a definite statement based on an opinion. Thirdly, I'm sorry that this discussion has degenerated into an argument between two people. I apologize to you, doc123. However, just because i have a differing opinion, you shouldn't become aggressive and attack me personally because of that.

Re: Gemmell Movie? .....so in closing it is ok for you to attack others....personally....correct? Just when someone corners a bully....their chin begins to quiver.....be careful what you post....someone might read it....i will not sit idle...why you slam others with out any backing...you can post till you are blue in the face....(but a simple sorry i had a bad day, that things i said about Frank Miller were a bit hasty....would set the boat straight) or maybe some back-up of why you think that way....maybe you know something that we don't....whose to say...but if you have an opinion...and it is an attack on someone....back it up or don't say it.....

| Admin and Tea-boy | Re: Gemmell Movie? So in closing... We a discussion community. We discuss. People share opinions. That's fine for the most part, but let's not start attacking individuals just because they have a different opinion. It's also up to the chronicles staff to determine posting policy, thanks. |

Re: Gemmell Movie? Just as i was reading the whole topic a thought popped into my head.... Zachary Quinto - Decado. He's got the evil, slightly demented look about him. And if they made the Rigante books into movies, they'd probably do Sword in the storm and Midnight Falcon well because medieval action is fairly simple, but they'd butcher Ravenheart and Stormrider because theyre a little more complicated than hack-and-slash.

Re: Gemmell Movie? Sorry for reviving an old thread, but thought Id throw my hat in as well. If anyone was to play Druss Id choose Gerard Butler(King Leonidas of the 300) for the role. He'll just need to bulk up a little and lose most of the muscle definition. Druss was a powerhouse not a poser. Daniel Day Lewis would make a good Waylander/Skilgannon or Abbot of the 30. If these views have already been aired by anyone else, my apologies for reinventing the wheel and treading on someones toes. Have just recently completed the Waylander series. Reading Winter Warriors now

Re: Gemmell Movie? Just finished watching the movie The Dark is rising. Whilst not such a good movie i must say seeing james cosmo as he looks now he is perfect for Druss. Big enough, but not a mountain. Has the grissled look and attitude i see in druss.

Re: Gemmell Movie? Right, noob here offering up tuppence worth: Druss - Brian Cox (too short? nah, do you really think Elijah Wood is 4'1") Rek - Chris Marshal (of My Family, Murder City and BT adverts fame) Virea - Not sure, but not some goddess like beauty, not even someone with girl next door looks: Virea is described as having a very simplistic/plain beauty about her. Bowman - Carey Elwes wasn't a bad idea whoever said that, except I fear he's a little old now... Perhaps the guy whose name I forget who was Tom in Spooks and Mr Darcy in the recent Pride and Predjudice adaptation... Ulric - Ken Watanabe, with the white beard like in Batman Begins. Whoever said so I agree that Christian Bale would be a perfect Skilgannon and I think Clive Owen would be perfect as Waylander opposite Keira Knightly as the girl whose name I forget... And to direct... I think Ridley Scott would be the best man...
