Favorite season, and why?

What was your favorite B5 season, and why? Did you like the buildup of season 1, the mounting suspicions of season 2, the start of the Civil War and the Shadow War in season 3, the climax of season 4, or the winding down of season 5?

Season 4 is my favourite - I loved the whole series (from the kidnap of Garibaldi, the escalation of the Earth conflict & the Mars underground)

Series 5 was a bit of an anticlimax - how could they kill off Marcus??

Well, the names are unofficially official. Naranek was the one that got killed by the Shadows, Ulkesh was his replacement. I think the names were chosen by 'Net fans to distinguish between the two.

Re: Favorite season, and why?

Season 3 was the best - that's when the plotlines exploded into our faces. Great stuff!! I mean, really, Kosh? That was superb. And the elevation of political unrest and the attack on Babylon 5 by Earth Alliance forces - superb!!!

But season 4 - the Londo line was fine, but the Garibaldi plot was weak and seemed irrelevant - the whole season was a downturn, that continued ignominously with Season 5.

I've not yet returned to Season 2, but I'm looking forward to seeing the build up - the whole Narn vs Centauri line was brilliant, not least the bombardment, and the Narn encounter with the Shadows. The politics overall was great.

Did Marcus die in Season 5? The whole season was pretty forgettable, and for what was woefully remembered I should hope to forget - I have a gift certificate, good at any hospital, for a lobotomy. I may use it for this.

Re: Favorite season, and why?

Season 4 was bad because he had to change his original plans. He had already written for a 5 series story arc, then was told he only had 4.

Marcus died near the end of series 4 saving Susan.

Vaguely remember that - I think it may be a repressed memory...

Re: Favorite season, and why?

I first started watching the show with season 5, so I have fonder memories of that plot arc than most people do, but looking back now I can see that it wasn't exactly the best part of B5.

I still haven't seen most of S4. I think season 3 - not least because of War Without End. I much preferred Sinclair to Sheridan.

i think sheridan was okay at the start but got a bit too up himself! Sinclair was a bit wooden at times. Ivanova was a fantastic character and oh i cried when Marcus died! the first 4 series were my favourites the 5th a bit slow

Re: Favorite season, and why?

Best season has to be season 3. The whole build up to the civil war was brilliant. JMS kept you guessing and in the dark the whole time. Severed Dreams came as a shock and is unargueably the best episode ever. Who could have guessed the Thunderbolts attacking Mars??
