time and the farseer/twany man series *spoilers* i'm not going to include liveship in this thread, cause i've not finished it. but to me, a big problem in these two series are age and time. i feel that time passed to quickly and the characters didn't ageaccordingly. that was a very confusing aspect for me. on the one hand, people like the prince and august seemed to age at a terrifying pace. and then characters like chade and the fool seemed almost ageless. for me this was a contradiciton and unnessicarily confusing point. has anyone else found this?

Re: time and the farseer/twany man series *spoilers* Well the Fool didn't age because that's simply the way his species is .... they have much longer lifetimes than regular humans. And Chade had aged, as mostly evident in his failing memory, but had been using powders/mixtures for years to remain young.

Re: time and the farseer/twany man series *spoilers* Fitz and Nighteyes also aged accordingly, Nighteyes even died of old age. Also Fitz, when he was healed the last time all his scars and such where changed or gone when in turn made him fell younger and look it. The Tawny Man was ....what 15 or twenty years later? I never had this age descrepency you spoke of and the most telling truth of it was the fact that Nighteyes had gone into his twilight years and Fitz still had many years left. That was so sad for me becuase I knew before the series started that Nighteyes would likely die, and when he did I actually had tears streaming down my cheeks. Rahl

Re: time and the farseer/twany man series *spoilers* I didnt find a problem with character's aging as they did seem to age for me. Chade did, as already mentioned by another had been controlling his aging. Fool is not human and didnt age the same as the rest. Fitz did age as did Nighteyes, this was noted by the Tawny Man series and mentioned on various occasions. Actually when I think about it, all the main character's aging was mentioned in various way throughout the Tawny Man series.

Re: time and the farseer/twany man series *spoilers* for me its in characters like king shrewed and chade. chade being shrewd's older halfbrother, and yet shrewd racked with age in the first series. burrich being obviously in his fourties at the start of the first series (35 years before the tawnyman), yet still fathering, what was it, ten? children, and running a farm with a wife who is at least fourty years his junior.

Re: time and the farseer/twany man series *spoilers* fitz says hes 35, and playing tom badgerlock who is supposed to be in his fourties. i've noticed this more with sideline characters than main ones.

Re: time and the farseer/twany man series *spoilers* King Shrewed didn't die because of his age. He looked "older" with the help of those who had killed him. Chade felt younger as he adored intrigues and all those politics strategies. And his desire to learn played an important role too. Somebody who has a clear purpose in life and fight for it, do not feel aging like those who have no purpose left. Burrich was a little too older for his 6 children, I agree.
