what happened next?

ever watched a film or read a book, and wondered what happened next?
I mean, the boy got the girl, the baddy got smacked about/dead the cute fury animals found new homes... But what happened when thumper got arthritis? and prince charming was discovered to have terrible hallitosis and snore?
I've just finished watching the princess bride (fantastic film). but what happened next. unless there is a sequel i don't know about, i want to know what happened. did wesley and buttercup get married and live happily ever after? or did wesley become bored and run off with the woman who milled the flour? did inigo become the new dread pirate roberts? or get drunker and drunker until his liver collapssed?
get the point? Why not let our imaginations run riot? the first person will mention a story, and ask what happens next. s'long as the original author hasn't written a sequel (thats cheating) the next person then answers and sugests the next ending they want elaborated

Ivy, there are so many SW novels out there (authorised by Lucas and Co) that all you have to do is go to the nearest store and take a look... So...spoilers ahead...

Han and Leia get married after he realises he's about to lose her to some 'prince' if he doesn't get a move on...Last I read they had 3 kids, Jacen, Jaina and Anakin Solo, all REALLY strong in the force...

Luke also gets married after a love-hate friendship, her name is Mara Jade...They only have the one son I think...

Chewy (hubby told me) dies. Won't tell you how but blame R.A.Salvatore and Lucas who wouldn't let him kill off Luke (Although I think that alternative is somehow preferable to me)

The Jedi have returned definitely, they've found ways to detect the force (none of the tech used in Phantom menace, this is much simpler), and there's a Jedi Academy going on one of the planets which Luke is responsible for...

And, of course, over the years, various nefarious plots by ex-imperial agents, forces, megalomaniac generals and Dark Jedi have plotted the overthrow of the New Republic, always bringing our heroes and their offspring into great danger and adventure...and always failing miserably in the end...Not without both emotional and physicall scarring...

Can I have a go now?

Most of my favourite books/films have either very definite endings (you can't really ask what next with Edward Scizzorhands, can you...) or sequels...and sequels to sequels...

But...Fairy tales...(if we choose to ignore Disney's sequel mania)...Cinderella for example - what happened next? I'm pretty sure there even IS a 'next' that got thrown out of all the children's versions...

Sadly, there is! In Cinderella 2, Cinders tries to impress the new inlaws by organising a party. The sisters try to sabotage it. Of course Cinderella is sickeningly nice throughout and even manages to pair off one of her half sisters with a baker's boy.

But I want to know what happened after Sleeping Beauty woke up and married her prince charming. Yea God's but she's a pretty minx! I took my five year old daughter to Disneyworld last year and we went to the Princess Character Breakfast. There aren't that many women who can look that good first thing in the morning! It's a bit embarrassing when you have to spoon the drool out of your breakfast cereal! There was no sign of her other half, so do you think I'd stand a fighting chance?

Whatever happened to Ferris Beuller after his day off??? Did he get his come-uppance??? Was he found to be a lying little weasel and end up doing time in the local Penn???

I like films like Animal House, where they put up what happened afterwards - "Went to Vietnam and was shot by his own men!!!"

the sleeping beauty woke to find herself a confirmed insomniac. she never managed to sleep more than four hours at a strech again. her prince soon became old and fat and decrepit, it turns out that he had been broke from gambling, and now she has to run the family home and control the rapidly dwindling finances. but she isn't completely innocent. as an insomniac she has nothing to do at two in the morning but drink red bulls and hack government systems. currently her hacking has put a price on her head from bill gates, and law enforcement are trying to get her into prison for 70years (and you all thought that was grant?)
her mother in law lives with her, and compared to her, the sleeping beauty has been trying in vain to bring back carabos. as for the good faries, they gave up and went to live a life of contented luxury in lapland, where they are now comfortably served by a small family of yetti

I wonder what happened after the goonies found the treasure?

ferris beuller actually was then discovered by a firm of corporate stock brokers. they were very much impressed with his injenuity (sp) and hired him on the spot. he is now the worlds biggest success story and is currently worth more than bill gates. he was however clever enough not to let this become public knowledge.
his friend (the one who's car he borrowed) is currently blackmailing him to the tune of £1.000000 a month with footage of that infamous day.
his sister became a nun, joined the peace corps, then decided, the hell with it, why should her stupid brother be a sod and get away with it. she is currently serving jail time under the name of Heidi Flieshman
