Database error

After a busy day, stripping some damp walls of wallpaper, and then putting up my new computer desk (a present from by girlfriend's family), I looged on at 20:40 only to find that this site was offline, with the following error:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Too many connections in /home/chron/public_html/forum/index.php on line 50
Too many connections

I have no idea what happened - but you can be sure that I've contacted my host about this. I pass on their reply.

Sincere apologies to everybody - especially if you had tried to log on. Likely, this issue had been affecting the site for some time. >

A general e-mail was sent from the host later that day, stating that there had been a conflict with the MySQL backend and anew version of CPanel.

Essentially, the database wasn't running properly with an upgrade of site maintenance software, so they upgraded the database software. Everything should be running fine now.
