| Registered User | Starting a comic strip I'm trying to get myself pscyhed up to start drawing a comic strip that I would put up on the web and update when I can. I was wondering if people would mind if I posted a strip here one way or another or linked to it? I don't want to spam people with anything they don't want to see, so if the answer is no that's fine. It's a humorous strip, sometimes political and sometimes stuff of a more social nature. The idea is that at long last, an alien lands on Earth, and he makes first contact, then travels around the world going to different places. He meets a human who he takes along with him. At first the viewpoint character assumes this is some sort of attempt at first contact and they'll make an embassy, and great things will follow. Then he notices the alien taking lots of pictures and not really making much serious contact. Eventually he asks him why he bothered to come down, and he said that until lately nobody was allowed to come talk to us. He asks him, "Why we weren't advanced enough?" And he says, "No, too advanced. You were coming along well, developing space flight and so on. Then we monitored your transmissions and found out that creationism was making a comeback. You lost just enough points that you were no longer considered a developing species." It isn't any sort of a diplomatic contact. He's a sort of alien photographer, seeking to take pictures of the most ridiculous things he can find. |
