Wow, this is huge. Answers so many questions about whether or not the show would be cutting out major characters that many of us have come to love.

Just right off the bat checking out the photos of actors playing these characters, Olenna Redwyne, Jojen Reed, and The Blackfish look exactly how I would have imagined.

Diana Rigg! Perfect. Probably no leather jumpsuits, this time.

I love Rigg, and i think she'll be terrific in the role, but she's not nearly old or withered enough, but with makeup, or maybe lack of it, she'll be fine.

thoros needed to be fatter, but this guy looks fine.

Meera is alost as I imagined her. Jojen not so much

That was my first reaction too, but then I remembered that he has lost all that fat by the time Arya meets him again. If I'm remembering correctly.

Missandei must be the most aged up character yet, an expanded role for her perhaps.

The guy they got for Tormund looks amazing!



I think the casting has been excellent from the beginning of the show. I'm sure they will nail it again. There are still a couple of biggish characters unannounced, Mance Rayder in particular.

Tywin, if you like Diana Rigg, vintage tv and jumpsuits, see if you can find "The Avengers".

Imp, I think Diana Rigg is the inner Olenna! More important, she can't be upstaged by Natalie Dormer, and she has got to be a fitting nemesis for Joffrey. I thought they were going to collapse the characters of Margarey (since they beefed her up) and Olenna. My husband told me that GRRM was taken with Mrs Peele in his youth and that is one reason Rigg was cast! She has a great voice, also.

(as an aside, Imp, the show Luther, if you haven't seen it, reminded me of Wire in the Blood)

I was sure that the Reeds and the Queen of Thorns were going to be cut, given the changes that they've made so far (like Margaery's less demure character, and Osha's more prominent role). However, I'm delighted to be proved wrong!

So Bran and co. just bump into the Reeds in the woods? Okay. But I want to hear the oath.

And what about the Walders? Big and Little.

If the show makes it to the fifth season, I want to see the Liddles. Big Liddle, Middle Liddle, and Little Liddle.

Surely they are not that important to the story.
Just characters GRRM added to flesh out the story.
Let's hope he starts trimming from the next book onwards.

I was pretty pleased with the new cast for season three - they all look similar to what i imagined/what they should look like. (Perhaps with the exception of Missandei. She's supposed to be what.. 11?)
Even if half of them were supposed to already be in season two.

I also expected Thoros to be a little chubbier, but I'm sure Paul Kaye will be great regardless.
If i remember correctly, in the first season Beric Dondarion was some ginger bloke.

Overall, i think it looks great - and Mackenzie Crook definitely looks like a wildling!

Tormund, The Blackfish, Edmure and Boric will all be perfect. The pictures of Richard Dormer on google look exactly how I pictured Berric Dondarion. And that Tormund follow looks the part, although it looks like he's gonna bust out of his suit in thye pictures they have of him on IMDB. I'm excited about Mackenzie Crook playing a wildling. he will be awesome.

Meera and Jojen look about right. Jojen certainly looks creepy enough. Im glad these characters didn't get cut.

excited for season 3!
